What is Dru Yoga?

Dru is a gentle, flowing style of yoga which has its roots in Hatha Yoga.  It includes classical yoga postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama) gestures (mudras), positive affirmations, empowering visualisations and powerful, flowing, dynamic sequences.

A typical class includes a warm up– or activations – to get the whole body moving, with particular focus on the shoulders, hips and spine.  An energy block release sequence will usually follow, this really encourages a free flow of energy throughout the body.  Preparatory stretches are then done as a prequel to specific postures, ensuring they are practiced safely and optimally.  A breathing exercise followed by a rejuvenating relaxation to complete.

Dru is often known as a heart-based yoga and my classes are always light-hearted and fun as I believe our yoga practice should bring joy into both our day and our life.  I am passionate that my classes should be accessible for all ages and abilities.  Everyone is welcome.
