What is Hot Stone Reflexology?
A reflexology treatment performed on the feet enhanced by the use of warm basalt stones.
The heat from the stones penetrates to a deeper level bringing about physiological changes as well as influencing the body’s internal energy flow. This encourages balance to both body and mind.
Stones are heated safely using a Vulsini Bag. This enables them to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the treatment.
How can it help me?
In addition to all the usual benefits of a reflexology treatment, introducing the subtle energies of hot stones may help to:
- Calm the senses
- Relax muscle tension
- Promote a meditative state
- Increased action of leukocytes and lymphatic function
- Deep relaxation, creating harmony and balance within the body
What happens when I come for a treatment?
On your first visit we will have a discussion to determine your present and past health and lifestyle. This helps me to build up a picture of you as a whole person rather than just focusing on any problem you may have.
The treatment takes place in a reclining chair allowing you to feel relaxed and supported. I will apply gentle pressure and manipulations to your feet using both my hands and the hot stones. I may also place the stones on and under the feet and legs to encourage relaxation.
Any subtle changes within the feet will be noted and worked upon – this may in turn affect the corresponding area, organ or system of the body.
Treatments usually take an hour and 15 minutes although your first appointment may take about 15 minutes longer. Depending on your body’s needs a course of treatments may be recommended.
How will I feel afterwards?
After one or two reflexology treatments your body may respond in a very definite way. Most people have a sense of well-being and deep relaxation. Sometimes people can feel lethargic, nauseous or tearful but this is transitory and is part of the healing process.
I’d like to know more before I decide if it’s for me...
Do please feel free to give me a call on 07950 314636 to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have. I am hugely enthusiastic about my therapies and more than happy to talk about them! Alternatively you can email me.
There is no obligation at all to book a treatment although I would encourage anyone to give it a go at least once to experience Hot Stone Reflexology for themselves.
